Arrival by Air

The nearest airport is Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (PAT), about 18 km from IIT Patna. PAT offers flights from major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

  • Taxi or app-based ride: 35–45 minutes to the campus.
  • Prepaid taxi counters are available inside the arrival terminal.
  • Delegate shuttle service updates will be shared with registered attendees.

Arrival by Train

Patna Junction (PNBE) and Rajendra Nagar Terminal (RJPB) are the main railway stations. Both stations are well connected by trains from across India.

  • Travel time from the station to IIT Patna is 25–35 minutes by taxi.
  • Book early through IRCTC or authorized travel agents.
  • Prepaid taxis and auto-rickshaws are available at station exits.

Arrival by Road

Patna is linked by national highways and frequent bus services from nearby cities such as Varanasi, Ranchi, and Kolkata.

  • IIT Patna is accessible via Bailey Road and NH19.
  • Private cabs and tourist buses are recommended for comfort.
  • State-run and private buses arrive at Patna bus terminals, with taxis available from there.

Local Transport

Local transport options include taxis, app-based ride services, auto-rickshaws, and campus shuttle buses.

  • Prepaid taxis offer safer and more predictable fares.
  • Auto-rickshaws are useful for shorter trips inside Patna.
  • Allow extra time during peak traffic hours.

Visa Guidance for International Delegates

International participants should start visa applications early. IIT Patna and the conference organizers cannot issue visas, but we can provide invitation letters and registration details to support the application.

  • e-Tourist Visa: For short-term travel and tourism in India.
  • e-Business Visa: For business travel and conference attendance.
  • Sticker / Regular Visa: Apply via your nearest Indian embassy or consulate if required.

Supporting Documents

  • Passport valid for at least six months beyond arrival.
